School of Languages Consultation and Evaluation Camp was held on January 28-30 with the participation of the Board of Trustees, administrators and the academic and administrative staff of the School of Languages. In the welcome speech, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. İrfan Gündüz said that the board of trustees meets with the staff of the School of Languages at the camp to listen, take notes on their opinions and suggestions, and correct any deficiencies and problems. Stating that although IHU has not yet given graduates of the bachelor degree, IHU’s higher studies graduates have come to good places with the efforts of the academics of the university. Gündüz stated that in order to elevate Turkey to the position it deserves in the world of the future, it is essential for our students to learn the world languages properly. The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, stated in the opening speech that the language education at IHU is currently at a very good point, and that they are closely following the new opportunities and technologies of language education. He pointed out that the current educational environment, new ideas, technologies and projects will be discussed. Erdoğan ended his speech by wishing that the meetings would be productive. In his speech, President Prof. Atilla Arkan stated that the quality of education offered by the School of Languages, which is rapidly advancing to become a brand in language teaching, will be further increased and that serious efforts are made to develop the language skills and abilities of the students. He underlined that the feedback of the School of Languages lecturers is important, and stated that a range of topics from artificial intelligence supported language education to certificate programs will be discussed at the camp. During three days, topics such as program development, assessment and evaluation, material development and research-development were discussed and presented at roundtable meetings.
