IBN HALDUN UNIVERSITY MULTILINGUALISM POLICY RULES IN GRADUATE PROGRAMS

1.

In all programs except for those programs stated below, some level of proficiency in

English, Turkish and Arabic ( or in another language except for Arabic) is required for

graduation. Students can fulfill this requirement by attending language preparation

program before starting their graduate programs or by passing the language courses

successfully which they take with their graduate courses. If the students certify their

proficiency in these languages by the results of language exams accepted by the

Universtiy, they will also fulfill this requirement. Level of language proficiency is

decided by the Program Coordinatorship.

Multilingualism is not required for all non-thesis programs and only thesis programs in

Turkish if the program does not require it.

3.

Preparation program duration given to a student for one language is maximum 2

semesters. Maximum duration for language preparation program is 2 years.

Minimum English proficiency level for graduation for programs subject to

multilingualism is B1.

5.

For students whose mother tongue is not Turkish and are registered in programs in

English, they are required to have the ability of using Turkish at minimum B1 level as

of the date of graduation.

6.

Minimum proficiency level required for Arabic or another language/languages decided

as 3rd language except for Arabic is A2 for graduation.

7.

Students who registered with lateral transfer before the Fall semester of 2019-2020

academic year will be exempted from the requirements of multilingualism.
