Our university's School of Languages faculty member Dr. Jaber Kamali's has been published by Cambridge University Press, one of the world's most prestigious academic publishers, under the title "Language as Power in the Language Teacher Education Ecosystem".

The work maps how the concept of "Language-as-Power" (LaP) manifests itself across three fundamental ecological layers: the micro system (teachers and classrooms), the meso system (institutions), and the macro system (socio-political context). Prepared from a historical perspective spanning from Plato to contemporary theorists, the study offers solution-oriented approaches such as challenging monolingual norms, expanding epistemic access, and institutionalising a justice-oriented understanding of professionalism.

This study, which analyses how artificial intelligence redistributes power balances at every scale and discusses future scenarios (3Ps: probable, possible and preferable), makes a significant academic contribution to our field at both theoretical and practical levels.

We congratulate Jaber Kamali on this valuable work and wish him continued success.

Note: This valuable work has been made available to our academic community in digital format free of charge until 19 March. To access the book free of charge, please click on this link.
