On the first trip on July 23, students started their day by visiting the Dolmabahçe Palace. In the palace, they learned about its history and some additional information such as gifts sent by various state administrators, and paintings by Western painters used in the decorations of the palace. After the palace visit, students continued by visiting the Istanbul Naval Museum. They learned about Turkish maritime history and sailors, especially Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha. After the museum trips, they enjoyed a long Bosphorus tour ending with a visit to Ortaköy Mosque.
On the next trip, students visited Topkapi Palace, Sultanahmet Square, the German Fountain, and Gulhane Park in the Historical Peninsula of Istanbul. The trip, which was also accompanied by a tour guide, was important for the students to learn about the values of the city they live in with guidance in English.
