The "Workshop on Arabic Teaching Methods and Techniques," a collaboration between the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Arabic Department of the School of Languages at Ibn Haldun University, was successfully held from November 7 to 9 at the Suleymaniye Campus.
This intensive three-day program provided Arabic teachers from Imam Hatip middle and high schools with the opportunity to learn the latest pedagogical approaches. The workshop addressed essential topics, such as level assessment based on referential frameworks, effective strategies for teaching beginners, and techniques for instructing vocabulary and language structures. It also included sessions dedicated to developing the four core language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Practical sessions were incorporated to equip teachers with strategies they could immediately implement in their classrooms. The program introduced innovative assessment tools and offered guidance on creating positive and engaging learning environments. Teachers explored interactive methods, including language games and activities, designed to foster stronger student engagement and participation. Participants actively contributed by sharing their experiences and exchanging best practices.
The teachers' enthusiasm was palpable, with many expressing their eagerness to apply their newly acquired skills. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants and stakeholders who made this collaboration possible. Ibn Haldun University remains committed to enhancing the quality of Arabic education through initiatives like this workshop.
